Ethics

Our Environmental Policy

At Kit Heath, we are committed to enriching lives through our ethical policy by promoting responsible, ethical, human rights, social, and environmental practices throughout our business, employees, and business partners, as well as our complete supply chain for all our products.

We comply with UK, EU and US legislation and fully support the sentiments and applicable codes of practice relating to the International Labour Organisation Conventions, the Responsible Jewellery Council, the Dangerous Substances and Preparations Regulations (Nickel) and the Kimberley Process, with zero tolerance of conflict products.

We aim to ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and regulations and take action to review and improve our environmental performance continuously.

All suppliers are required to comply with our Ethical Sourcing framework, which, as a minimum, insists that the working conditions are safe and hygienic, employment is freely chosen and living wages are paid, that child labour shall not be used, and that no harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed.

We aim to use resources wisely by reducing resource use and reusing or recycling materials wherever possible. From the office paper, cardboard and scrap metal we send to recycle to the products we source for our jewellery.

We aim to implement our ethical policies daily throughout our operations by:

  • Training, ensuring all our employees understand the sustainability impacts of their jobs. We are always finding ways and means to make our mark on the world positive rather than negative.
  • Informing all suppliers, contractors, and sub-contractors of the requirement to comply with this policy when providing goods and services.
  • Reviewing sustainability issues regularly at the highest level within the organisation.
  • Being open to suggestions and recommendations from all our customers.

Our Partners

Kit Heath is a member and partner with the following organisation, which offers us, our retailers, and our consumers the security of our design and mark of quality within the jewellery industry.

ACID offers us practical and specialist support to protect our designs, imagery and intellectual property.

ACID has been created by designers for designers and is the only cross-industry trade association specifically dealing with intellectual property.

ACID champions IP awareness and education. As members, we can access various benefits, such as specialist help and advice through our Legal Affiliates on Intellectual Property (IP) and the recently launched ACID Marketplace, the UK’s first online design exchange.

Creating a safer trading environment and providing us all with self-help tools to help protect our Kit Heath designs.

The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) is the national trade association which promotes and protects the growth and prosperity of over 1800 members whose businesses operate in every aspect of the jewellery industry. The organisation aims to inspire consumer confidence to purchase from their members through a Code of Practice setting the highest standards of professionalism, honesty and ethical business practices — this is a member’s ‘Mark of Quality’.
